At Travel With Cubs, we believe it’s vital for our cubs to understand the importance of animal welfare. One story that touched our hearts is that of Bindu the Camel, who resides at the Dehiwala Zoo. After the unfortunate loss of his partner due to a misdiagnosis, Bindu has been without a companion. In an effort to improve his well-being, the zoo is actively working on securing a female camel, exploring exchange programmes with zoos in India, Moscow, and Pakistan. They’re also considering other ways to provide Bindu with a suitable partner without sending an animal from Dehiwala Zoo. This highlights the importance of responsible care for animals in captivity, and it’s a story we’re sharing to encourage compassion and awareness about animal welfare.
