Family Adventure Begins: Newcastle to Colombo | Sri Lanka Series Part 1

Hello Everyone! Welcome back to our channel, Travel with Cubs! Today, we’re thrilled to take you on an exciting new adventure! It's Easter Holidays and guess what? We're heading to Sri Lanka with our little ones to visit family! The kids are buzzing with excitement to see their grandparents, uncles, aunts, and cousins. We're flying out of Newcastle International Airport, just a quick 45-minute drive for us. With the cubs in tow, we've got loads of suitcases, so we're definitely not traveling light! We love traveling from Newcastle International Airport because it’s so easy to access. For over 80 years, this has been the North East’s largest airport, connecting our region to the world. With 16 airline partners, it offers flights to over 80 destinations, catering to both leisure and business travellers. Newcastle International Airport, along with Emirates Airlines, plays a crucial role in connecting travelers from Northeast England to the Far East and beyond, providing an exceptional travel experience. We’ve been flying with Emirates from Newcastle International Airport since 2007, and it’s always been fantastic!

Dehiwala Zoo Tour Elephant Show & Parrot Feeding With Cubs | Sri Lanka Series Part 2

Today, we're in the beautiful island nation of Sri Lanka, visiting the Dehiwala Zoo. It's one of the oldest and most fascinating national zoological gardens in Asia! We're here with our families in Sri Lanka, and all the cubs are super excited to explore the zoo together! We start our adventure by diving into some history: the Dehiwala Zoological Gardens was originally started by Mr. John Hargenberg in the early 1920s as a private collection. On July 1st, 1936, it was officially taken over by the Government, marking its transformation into a public treasure. Exploring the aviary, our cubs fed the colorful parrots and were captivated by vibrant macaws, silver pheasants, and majestic white peacocks. Of course, no zoo visit is complete without seeing the big cats. The Bengal Tigers, busy in their cages, were a sight to behold. Did you know they are native to India and can also be found in Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, and Myanmar? We also spotted a huge hippopotamus lounging in the water, native to sub-Saharan Africa. These massive creatures spend most of their time in rivers and lakes to keep cool. As we moved on, we watched the free-living pelicans gather for their daily 2:30 PM feeding. It was amazing to see them eagerly awaiting their meal. Our day ended on a high note with the much-anticipated elephant show. The Dehiwala Zoo’s camels, including the story of Bindu and Rosi, reminded us of the importance of proper animal care.
